Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Koyd, an independent software project run by a solo developer based in Greece. For anything in this policy, write to support@koyd.app.

2. What we collect, and why

• Update checks: Koyd asks the update server whether a newer version exists, sending its current version, operating system, and processor architecture. The new server updater sends no persistent installation identifier. Our host can also receive ordinary request metadata, including the source IP. The retired desktop updater may still send its legacy installation identifier. Legal basis: legitimate interest in distributing and securing updates.
• Optional Wi-Fi device setup: when you choose online setup, your device sends this website the public certificate from your Koyd computer to create a certificate installation file. The converter processes it in memory and does not save it. The pairing key and local server address remain in your browser; private keys and workspace content are not submitted. Ordinary website request metadata is handled as described below. Offline certificate transfer is available in Koyd if you prefer not to use this service.
• Support emails: if you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can answer you and follow up. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing support.
• Website logs: our host records IP address, user agent and timestamp for security and abuse prevention, kept for 30 days. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the service available.

3. What we never collect

Your source code, prompts, AI conversations, terminal output, database credentials and project files are handled by your selected Koyd Server and the devices you pair. The server sends relevant context to model providers and tools that youconfigure; this website does not relay that work. Browser storage can hold paired-device credentials, drafts, and cached interface data. Koyd has no required central account or license activation. We run no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts on this website, and we set no tracking cookies.

4. Who we share data with

We use a small number of processors:

• Cloudflare: DNS for koyd.app and routing of inbound support email.
• Our server hosting provider: running this website and distributing installers and updates.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

5. International transfers

Cloudflare is a US company operating globally. Where data leaves your region, the transfer relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as applicable.

6. How long we keep it

• Support emails: 24 months.
• Website logs: 30 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, export it, restrict how we use it, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email support@koyd.app and we will respond within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.

8. Security

Remote Koyd connections require HTTPS. Local loopback connections can use HTTP. Paired devices receive access to their instance; revoke devices you no longer trust. Access to our production systems is limited to the people who need it.

9. Children

Koyd is a professional developer tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
