1. Who you are contracting with

Koyd is an independent software project run by a solo developer based in Greece (“we”, “us”). These Terms govern your use of Koyd Server, its PWA client, and this website. By installing or using Koyd you accept them. For any question, write to support@koyd.app.

2. What Koyd is

Koyd is a workspace for AI-assisted software development. Its server runs on a machine you control and connects to third-party model providers using credentials you supply. Its browser or installed PWA client connects directly to that server.

3. Your license to use Koyd

Koyd is free of charge and its software is distributed under the MIT License, as stated in its repository. The software license governs use, modification, and redistribution. Third-party components retain their respective licenses.

4. Updates

Koyd checks for releases and lets you choose when to begin an update. Supported installed background servers wait for idle work before restarting; portable and service-managed installations use a manual update process. We may add, change or remove features. If a change materially reduces the value of the product for you, tell us. We would rather fix it than lose you.

We may introduce paid plans for future versions. If we ever do, a version you have already installed keeps working — we will not switch off software that is already on your computer. What a paid plan could gate is access to newer versions, and we will say so on this site before it happens.

5. Your content, your keys, your responsibility

Your projects, prompts, conversations and files are handled on the server you choose and can be accessed by the devices you pair. That server talks to model providers and enabled tools using your credentials; your use of those providers is subject to their terms and pricing, and we are not a party to that relationship.

AI-generated code can be wrong, insecure or licensed in ways you did not intend. You are responsible for reviewing everything before you ship it. Koyd gives you the tools to review, but it does not review for you.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Koyd to build or operate anything unlawful, to infringe someone else’s rights, or to attack, probe or overload our systems or those of our providers.

7. Warranties

Koyd is provided “as is”, free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that Koyd will be uninterrupted, error-free or that AI output will be accurate. Nothing here removes statutory guarantees that consumers have under the law of their country of residence.

8. Limitation of liability

Koyd costs nothing, and our liability reflects that. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data or business interruption arising out of or relating to Koyd. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Koyd at any time by uninstalling it. We may withdraw the software or refuse updates in cases of serious or repeated breach of these Terms.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced on this page before they take effect. Continuing to use Koyd after that date means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, and the courts of Greece have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there.
